Worried your grids may come to you scratched due to shipping and packing? Don't Be. Each Elipse hoop comes with 2 Grids that are plastic covered that simply peels away on either side. The plastic helps absorbs scratches that may appear due to packaging and shipping.

Elipse Embroidery Hoops boast about their hoops being extremely durable, so we took these hoops to the test. We layed the 5" x 12" embroidery hoop on cylinders that rose the hoop 4 inches off of the ground on either side of the hoop. Then we stacked 3 bricks at the center of the hoop, which is the hoops weakest point to see how durable the hoops truly are. The 5" x 12" hoop was able to handle the weight without any problems.

So after the brick test we decided to add more weight. Being that the bricks weigh about 10 pounds or so we decided to increase the weight by at least half. So we tested an incredible 25 pounds at the weakest point of the hoop and the 5" x 12" held up with no problem.

For the next Quality Assurance Test we layed another 25 pound weight at the center of the hoop with the existing 25 pound weight still at the center. That is a total of 50 pounds at its weakest point. This is no small feat and we were very impressed with the results.

For the next test we added the same 3 bricks and the 2 -25 pound weight to the center of the hoop. That is over a staggering 60-pounds and the Elipse hoop held up fine with no problems at all. After taking off all of the weight we noticed that the hoop showed no signs of bending or distress. It looked brand new and as if no weight was applied. It is simply amazing how durable these hoops are!
